Fair Use Policy (FUP)
Updated: 22nd December 2025
Network
At SiteHUB, each hosting service includes a defined bandwidth allocation delivered over either a 1 Gbps or 10 Gbps port, depending on the plan:
-
Monthly Bandwidth Allowance:
• Every customer is assigned a fixed monthly data allowance as specified in their service agreement.
• Traffic within this allowance is delivered at the full port speed available to the plan. -
Speed Capping Upon Exceeding Allowance:
• If the monthly bandwidth allowance is exceeded, the connection speed is automatically capped at 10 Mbps for the remainder of the billing cycle.
• This safeguard ensures that no single user can degrade network performance for others. -
Reset Condition:
• If the monthly bandwidth allowance is exceeded, the connection speed is automatically capped at 10 Mbps for the remainder of the billing cycle.
• This safeguard ensures that no single user can degrade network performance for others.
This policy is implemented to maintain high-quality service for all customers. It applies to all network activities, whether for business, personal, or other uses.
Customers who frequently exceed their monthly allowance may be subject to a review of their usage patterns. In cases of recurrent excessive use or abuse of network resources, we reserves the right to take remedial action. This could include offering alternative plans, imposing additional charges, or—if necessary—modifying or terminating service.
The provisions of this policy are intended solely to protect the network’s performance and the interests of all users. It does not restrict legitimate business operations, streaming, or other approved activities. However, non-essential use that pushes the limits of the allocated bandwidth may prompt a reassessment of your service plan.
Shared Web Hosting
Each website is entitled to fully utilize the resources allocated under its hosting plan, including occasional bursts of RAM, provided such usage does not compromise overall server performance or negatively affect other hosted sites.
• Exceeding Allocations
If a site consistently exceeds its resource limits, we will recommend an upgrade path.
Options may include moving to a larger shared hosting plan or transitioning to a cloud server.
For cloud server migrations, we can provision the server with your preferred operating system and control panel, secure it, and hand it over for ongoing management.
If you require continued management support, we can provide a detailed service quote.
- Data Storage:
Allocated storage must be used exclusively for hosting‑related content, including:
• Website files
• Application data
• Email communications
Use of storage for unrelated files, personal archives, or file‑sharing purposes is strictly prohibited. - Data Backup:
Users are solely responsible for maintaining current backups of their data. While we implement reasonable safeguards to protect stored information, we cannot guarantee its integrity or availability. Regular backups are strongly recommended to minimize the risk of data loss.
Virtual Machines
- Shared Cores:
Each VPS is provisioned with a predetermined number of virtual cores based on its hosting plan. Usage is expected to remain within this allocation under normal operation. Exceeding the assigned cores is only permitted during specific, approved burst periods, which are designed to handle short‑term spikes in demand without compromising overall system stability. - Understanding vCores Allocation:
A virtual core (vCore) represents a fractional share of physical CPU resources:
• Definition
1 vCore = 25% of a physical thread (¼ of a thread).
1 vCore = 12.5% of a physical core (⅛ of a core).
• Practical Mapping
4 vCores = 100% of one physical thread (full access to a single thread).
8 vCores = 100% of one physical core (complete utilization of a core).
• Standard Limitation
Under normal hosting plans, vCores are provisioned according to these fractional allocations.
This ensures that no single VPS monopolizes physical resources, maintaining fairness across all users.
• Dedicated Core Exception (DVS Plans)
The only exception applies to DVS plans, which allow dedicated physical core locking.
In this case, your VPS can reserve and operate on entire physical cores directly, bypassing the fractional vCore model. - Usage Limitations:
Sustained operation at 100% capacity or consistently reaching the limits of your hosting plan is not permitted under this policy. Persistent overuse may trigger corrective measures, which can include temporary throttling, service adjustments, or the imposition of additional constraints. These actions are designed to maintain system stability and ensure fair resource distribution across all users. - Service Abuse:
Any misuse of our services, including but not limited to unauthorized hacking, exploitation of vulnerabilities, attempts to bypass security controls, or accessing systems without proper authorization is strictly prohibited. Violations of this policy will result in immediate enforcement actions, which may include suspension or permanent termination of service. - Resource Allocation:
Users must remain within the resource limits defined by their hosting plans, covering CPU, memory, storage, and bandwidth. Occasional spikes are tolerated, but sustained or repeated overuse will trigger enforcement measures.
• Throttling:
If usage consistently exceeds thresholds, the VPS may be restricted for a fixed period.
• Escalation:
Continued violations can lead to longer restrictions or permanent throttling.
• Service Actions:
In cases where throttling alone is insufficient, accounts may be suspended or users may be required to upgrade to a higher‑tier plan. - Compliance with Terms:
All users are required to comply with the provisions outlined in this Fair Use Policy, as well as any supplementary terms associated with their specific hosting plans. Non‑compliance may result in enforcement actions, including temporary throttling of resources, suspension of services, or permanent termination of the account. -
Throttling:
Our servers run an automated scanning and throttling module that continuously monitors resource usage. The system performs checks once every minute, across the entire 24‑hour cycle.
• Initial Detection
If a VPS instance exceeds its allocated resource threshold within a rolling 24‑hour period, it is flagged by the system.
Once flagged, the instance enters a tracking window of up to 30 minutes.
• Sustained Exceeding
During this 30‑minute window, the system continues monitoring minute by minute.
If the VPS sustains usage above the allowed threshold throughout this period, throttling restrictions are applied.
If usage drops back within limits before the 30 minutes expire, the flag is cleared and throttling does not occur.
• Throttling Duration
When throttling is applied, the VPS remains restricted for 5 consecutive days.
Performance is limited during this period to protect shared infrastructure.
Release & Re‑Evaluation
After the 5‑day throttle period ends, the VPS is automatically released back to normal operation.
Monitoring resumes immediately, with the same one‑minute checks and 30‑minute sustained tracking window in place.
• Repeat Violations
If the VPS is flagged and throttled again after release, the same 5‑day cycle applies.
This process can repeat multiple times if the usage pattern persists.
• Permanent Throttling
If a VPS demonstrates a sustained pattern of repeated throttling events (i.e., consistently breaching thresholds across multiple cycles), the system escalates.
In such cases, the VPS will be permanently throttled, meaning restrictions remain indefinitely. - Communication:
It is the responsibility of each user to maintain accurate and up‑to‑date contact information within their account. These details are used to deliver critical updates, service notifications, and policy revisions. Users are expected to review and respond to such communications promptly to ensure continued compliance and uninterrupted service. - Prohibited Activities:
Any actions that disrupt the normal operation of our services or negatively impact other users are not allowed. This includes, but is not limited to:- Running background processes that excessively consume resources
- Hosting malicious or harmful content
- Participating in activities that violate our Acceptable Use Policy
Actions That May Result in Suspension/Termination
-
Operating open proxies
-
Running Tor exit nodes
-
Ignoring or failing to resolve IP alerts or complaints
-
Not responding to requests from law enforcement or government agencies regarding online activities or data
-
Failing to pay for services rendered
-
Sustaining continuous high CPU bursts on non-dedicated plans
-
Unauthorized account transfers
